2010s Orvis Linen Top

Black-and-cream houndstooth sleeveless Orvis top in 100% linen. Orvis was founded in Manchester, Vermont, in 1856 by Charles F. Orvis and is America's oldest continuously operating mail-order outfitter, with roots in fly-fishing and sporting goods.

The yarn-dyed linen gives a traditional houndstooth pattern to a breathable summer cloth. Linen's natural slub, airflow, and ability to lift away from the skin make it especially practical in warm conditions.

Traditional sporting culture was heavily male-dominated, and Orvis later invested in clothing designed specifically for women participating in angling, shooting, and outdoor life. That meant bringing the same durability and function into garments cut for women's movement.

The triangular “Sporting Traditions Since 1856” label, size/care tag, 100% linen content, Made in China marking, and RN 70534 place this piece around 2010–2015.
