The woven label reads XIANGFENG with the Chinese characters 翔凤 and identifies Linhai, Zhejiang. The pure silk and detailed openwork construction give the piece a strong textile story even though the label itself is little documented.

The bilingual export label, traditional numeric sizing, silk composition, and construction support an approximate late-1980s to 1990s date.
